Opened in 2009 Anthem Care offers outstanding levels of Retirement Living & Residential Aged Care. Anthem Care is a Continuous Retirement Community providing all levels of care both private & subsidised. Hordern is our Assisted Living building with 24 lease hold apartments for sale. Throsby & Ascot buildings offers Low(Hostel) & High (Nursing Home) care with 109 beds. A new building is expected to finish at the end 2017 with 65 more Low and High care beds.Retford is our Dementia Specific building with 14 beds Anthem staff are committed to delivering attentive service, ensuring the best level of comfort is offered in a holistic(physical, social and emotional) environment. My mum has severe dementia and a room came up at Anthem. This place is horrid. My mum had to walk down a hallway for her bathroom. Any idiot would know that someone with severe alzheimers is unable to remember where their bathroom is!!! The admin staff rarely answer the phone and don’t reply to emails. The meals are horrid. Apparently Chicken Schnitzel comprises or 2 chicken nuggets!!!!!! We took mum home after two days. She hadn’t been showered, her handbag was missing which was found in someone else’s room. Her wedding and engagement ring are missing. Despite phone calls to them I’ve had no response. The residents are plonked in front of the tv and left to fall asleep. Don’t even consider this hell hole.

Anthem Care has deteriorated since early this year. My motherin law was there in feb 2023 for respite care. She came home singing the praises of care and quality of meals. Early october 2023 she was in for respite for another 2 weeks. Management has changed and sadly this has resulted in her refusing to return as the care was way inferior to her previous experience and the food quality likewise. This is the opinion of an elderly person with full faculties. There was also major problems with admin staff who were very unreliable with poor communication skills.
