Stella Maris is a modern Aged Care facility at Cronulla that 75 residents call home. Located on Coast Ave, Cronulla the home has a 180-degree commanding view of the Pacific Ocean in all its changing beauty. Established in 1964, Stella Maris is owned by the Sisters of Mercy, Parramatta. The Stella Maris community was built on the Sisters of Mercy culture of care and warmth, which is supported by the local participation of many volunteers and families. Stella Maris’ 75 beds are spread over three floors with an elevator, ramp, and stairs to connect them. All the rooms are single rooms with either an ocean or garden view, all with ensuite bathrooms. Each level has dedicated common areas with a mix of dining, lounge and sitting rooms for our residents to enjoy. There is also a main dining room for residents to eat together on entry level.

My father-in-law is here. He is treated well, better than the previous nursing home. Everything is clean and he is actually made to do his physiotherapy, something that didn’t happen at the last place. So yes, we’re happy.
Extremely disappointed with the management at Stella Maris Aged Care. Since Judy became the Facility Manager, the culture of this place has gone downhill fast. The atmosphere feels tense, and many residents seem genuinely uncomfortable approaching management because the way issues are handled can feel intimidating rather than caring. There also appears to be clear favouritism shown toward certain residents, which is unprofessional and creates an unfair environment for everyone else. Aged care should be consistent and respectful not selective. The biggest red flag is the massive staff turnover under this manager. It’s constant. Good staff keep leaving, and it’s impossible not to notice. When so many people walk out, it usually means something is seriously wrong behind the scenes. The care workers themselves are lovely and do their best, but management needs urgent improvement. This facility has so much potential, but poor leadership is holding it back and residents deserve better.
My father last year and my friend this year best care, dignity and support for family and friends who visit. End of life support is done with compassion and dignity. Both nursing homes run by St Vincents Care which looks after the families and friends of residents too.
My Dad has been at SM for more than a year and we couldn’t speak highly enough of the entire experience.
I am tempted not to write this review, because everyone will want their relative to stay in Stella Maris. The place is simply amazing. The food, level of care, cleanliness and professionalism is second-to-none. Oh, then there's those multi-million Dollar views. My mother-in-law is living in Stella Maris and she has blossomed. There's probably a good reason why Stella Maris lacks a website. They just don't need it. Shhh. Don't tell anyone.
