Poor management. Poor patient care.
My Mum is a resident. She is being looked after very carefully She is very fragile and it’s great the way the very caring staff look after her . Highly recommended.
My dad spent 8 weeks at opal Narraweena , it was the most humbling experience for him & for us as a family . We were very nervous when dad arrived it was our first time for him going into aged care . We thought the facility was a bit dated but had been advised by a family member whom is a nurse, not look at the nice pictures on the wall or the beautiful carpet but to really look into the care of the residents & their families . What a beautiful experience for dad it was he never asked to go home all he could say was , what beautiful people they all were & how amazing he was being looked after . Claire who was just so beautiful on the admin team , greeted us everyday always with smile & would give us updates on dad , Kylie who was one of dads carers was so funny & loved dads sense of humour , the nursing staff , Eric the cook would try & make food to accommodate dads needs . Just everyone at opal Narraweena were just so supportive, caring & kind . I cannot recommend highly enough .

Don (Dad) lived At Narraweena Grove Care Community for the final six months of his life. The staff treated Dad very well. Geoff the manager has a very caring attitude and I recall him thanking the family for placing Dad in their care. This caring spirit continued right through the six months Dad was with you. We also liked how the care community showed a genuine willingness to personalise things e.g., Ensuring Dad had his banana cooked into his porridge. After Dad died, Jenni and I (Peter) had a meeting with Geoff, Gargi and Marilyn. We all reminisced about Dad. Then five nurses who cared for Dad came into the meeting room and shared their fond memories of Dad. He would have been very happy about this! I know Gargi had a soft spot for Dad and he did for her too. I could see Gargi had a kindhearted way of talking to Dad. Thank-you Marilyn for keeping an eye on Dad’s health and modifying his support especially as his health declined in the last couple of months of Dad’s life. Whenever we would talk to you about Dad, it was very obvious that you cared about his wellbeing. We would also like to thank Dr Hart for her wonderful medical care and always being available to advise the nursing home on Dad’s care. As a family we felt very fortunate that Dad lived in such a caring community. As a family we felt like we were building up good relationships with many of the staff and it is a shame that we will no longer have that regular contact.
