The General Manager (who was not a nurse) put together one of the best aged care teams I have seen. Up till now the center is well run and the staff mostly attentive. Management at the tops sets any organizational culture so I hope their standards continue to operate above expectations.
My Nanna was here 6 yrs ago and I have a cert 3 individual support and Age care and disability and also going into my RN ba Nursing Science what I have been taught and looking back at the facility in Salisbury it's seems to be a very incompetent care and yes I have had personal experience with some of the reviews made that I've read and agree it's a money making opportunity rather than for patient / resident/client/ participants centred care . And I'll be enquiring about her progress noting and review it as she had a fall on her right pelvic bone which three weeks before she had went to be with the lord .
Dad is receiving the care that we would hope for by the staff at Salisbury Regis. Everyone seems very kind, friendly and helpful. He's settling in quite well.

This facility is not managed with integrity. I had no idea that nursing homes pick and choose their residents. Wow, ok, learned something new! What's not ok is that no one told us for over three months that mum had been 'too difficult' and 'rang the button too much' while on respite there end of 2023. Rather, I was told at the time that further respite and a permanent placement were no issue only to be left high and dry now when trying to take up the offer. I kept in touch with the facility since mum's respite to be sure there were no changes. I could have searched for a suitable place for my mum for over three months! I was honestly shocked by this behaviour.

Place is run by a General Manager who is not a nurse. Staff require more training, and there is a lack of staff, especially at night and on the weekend. They leave my relative, who is blind, in a room with no phone or way to contact staff. Medication, that is required to be given on time, my relative states is often hours late. Private phone calls have to be made at reception. My relative was concerned about falling. General Manager could not understand the concern. When contacted about the lack of care, General Manager was rude and was unconcerned- unprofessional, he is just a General Manager, not a Director of Nursing. The General Manager stated that he would look into my concerns, and return my call- no call has been received. My relative states that they still haven't got a phone, staff do not leave items in the same place, and there is no way to contact staff. Be concerned if the person running an aged care facility has no background in nursing, they used to be called nursing homes- not aged care facilities (more like profit facilities). EDIT- Rang the number as advised, asked about the qualifications of this person, was advised that this person is not a Registered Nurse. So I conclude that it is of little value to discuss this, it should be mandatory that Registered Nurses should be in management positions. Therefore, I will be making a formal complaint to the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, especially as we have evidence of the above
This place is very pleasant. I had my mum stay here for a 2 week respite so I could recover from surgery. A month prior to mums stay I was able to go for a tour and speak with the site manager about mum and her needs. So I was confident that this place was good for mum. Nurses were lovely and took good care of mum. My only concern was the food. My mum is pescetarian. Has been for over 12 years. This diet helps maintain her diabetes. Although the site claims to cater to all diets, mum was served the same dish for 4 days before something different was served to her. Still grateful she got to eat.
