My mother , Pauline Lovatt - entered Arcare Taigum in May 2023. From the first day - everyone from reception, front desk, carers, dining staff and nurses - were all very positive, kind, helpful and positive. Mum died on 23 April 2025 and we could not have wanted anymore support , love and caring for mum and her family through those final days. Mum’s time at Arcare was extremely positive. It is a lovely warm residence and we could not have wanted any more for mum. The meals were tasty, her needs always considered, coffe delicious, friendly staff on the front desk - everyone - every member was very supportive of mum and her family. We could not have been happier with all Arcare Taigum did for mum - Thank you all most sincerely for everything you did - Many thanks and best wishes Helena and family 😘👍
My ex husband came to Arcare Taigum when it first opened. One of the carers Cindy was absolutely brilliant with him, and he really liked her, but they moved her to another section and like the running of Taigum things were never quite the same.I visited everyday and you see things I guess your not meant to comment on,but when he first entered Arcare he was quite young compared to most residents. He was non verbal but there was no special help in communication with him, and I am glad I went everyday to keep an eye on him.I found medication on the floor more than once, one day I came in and found him naked sitting in his chair and most days I made his bed and cleaned his room.I refreshed his water each day as he couldn’t ask, I thickened his water as they made it as thick as jelly and cups of tea the same.He had a fall under their care in 2018 and I got him up walking again they use the easy option of lifts etc.i taught him how to hold on to the walker as his right hand was not the best after the stroke. He knew how to walk over to the bed and sit down, again something I taught him.we got an outside carer in 2022 and his staff did a couple of hours a day, and I too did my two hour shift so he had plenty of company through the day Arcare obviously thought they were family members. We had plans to take him out of Arcare using private carers but sadly he passed away late 2022.I would not place a family member in this facility 3 managers in the time we were involved with Arcare and the good staff all left one by one.
Kind, caring and supportive staff. They endeavour to keep everyone happy and engaged. Rooms are kept clean and well appointed. Thank you for your amazing care of our friend while she was there.
Many thanks to the Arcare Team for the care they provided to my mum at a very difficult time. They have gone above and beyond what was required of them and nothing was to much trouble. A special thank you to Richa, Ramdevi, Freda, Temeika, Sheridan, Jamie, Stinelle, Mai Ling, Lucy and Karen.
In August, 2022 both my parents moved into their new home, Arcare Taigum. We looked at about 11 centres and were lucky enough that Arcare Taigum had 2 available rooms. This is a difficult time for the elderly and their family, but we found Richa and the team very giving to make the transition easy, comfortable and highly respectful to my parent’s wishes. 14 months later we are even more happy than we were day 1. The quality of nursing, care and genuine love given to my parents is just lovely to witness and we could not be happier. More importantly though is both my parents call Arcare Taigum ‘our home’. It really is a beautiful and fresh centre that is very well maintained. It was a great decision to select Arcare Taigum 14 months ago. Thank you to everyone at Arcare Taigum that cares for my Mum and Dad – you really are amazing people every day!
There's been many challenges at Arcare Taigum over the 6 years my Mum's been here, especially during COVID. However Richa, the Facility Manager and the team she's built have now put all that behind them and they're once again strong and stable. It's great to see friendships being forged again between the residents, their families and staff. There's lots of laughter, warmth and genuine care there again. Great work everyone, please keep it up.
Sadly the place isn’t clean and lacking attention to many details. The carpet is stained and smelly. Guests bathrooms are poorly maintained and un hygienic .
Common sense should prevail before you responded to a 1 star review Do some research and rethink before reaching out. My advice to anyone looking at this residence be careful, look elsewhere.
