My Nanna has been at Amarina in Windsor for a while now, and I've never seen her this happy in a nursing home. It's like night and day. My grandad passed, and the staff have been so kind and understanding towards her. We watched his funeral video the other day together, and she was really upset, but a nurse came and checked on her and was really understanding, they let her take her time going out for dinner and made sure she felt comforted. Shes always telling me about her favourite staff. Darren is one of her favourite nurses, another helps her with her phone and tv (I'm so sorry I can't recall the name but I know it's a male member of staff). The activity coordinator, Andrew, has really helped her to be more social, she's even made friends. It honestly took the whole family by surprise how fast she was interacting with other people. She has favourite cleaning staff too, she calls one of them her "singing lady" because she loves hearing her sing while she's working. It means a lot also, when the nurses actually come when she calls for them, which didn't happen on her old nursing home. She feels cared for and respected here. They also allow dogs (as long as you call ahead and keep them on a leash). I bring the big dog I look after (Siberian Husky x Rhodesian Ridgeback), and she lights up whenever she sees him, it makes her day. It feels warm and supportive, and everyone can see the difference its made for her. I'm really grateful she's here.

My Dad was here for a couple of years and the staff were fantastic. They always let us know when anything happened and the monthly news letter was great to send to my family members with pictures of my Dad in it. They always had activities on and had entertainment as well.
