Mum came into respite at Arcare Carnegie just over a month ago, and we have recently moved her over into permanent care. We could not be happier with Arcare Carnegie (Anna made the intake process as easy as possible and went out of her way to help us securing her spot. Often answering emails way after normal office hours). The staff have been amazing! Mum is well looked after - always dressed, clean and well feed. Her skin colouring has improved and it looks rosy. They even do her nails for her. The biggest change we have noticed in her is that she has gone from being very reluctant to enter care to (I think I should stay here. They look after me, and I have friends here). Coming from someone like Mum with Advanced Alzheimers/Dementia that is huge.

Moving a loved one to a nursing home can be a very difficult time. I visited 6 nursing homes before making a decision. Arcare Carnegie was the last home I visited, and I knew immediately that it was the one. Anna, the Client Services Manager was excellent and made the whole application process very easy. She explained everything so well, and made sure that all my requirements were met. The home has a whole range of wonderful facilities to suit all needs. However, the most important thing for me were the fantastic nursing staff. They were friendly and caring towards my Aunt, and did not get fed up with my endless questions and requests. I was pleased that I was seeing the same staff every day, rather than lots of casual staff. I was able to develop a relationship with them which I felt was important in ensuring that my aunt got the best care. I highly recommend Arcare Carnegie if you are looking for a high quality nursing home for a family member.

We have found the Staff at Arcare Carnegie to be very caring , always happy to help. The home is clean and well presented with plenty facilities and amenities The lifestyle team have many awesome activities which resident enjoy, such as bus trips walking groups bbqs mens group Residents are always telling me how much they love being there, and the coffeee at the cafe is the best Thank you Arcare
Arcare took my mother into respite with, in our understanding, the intention of her staying permanently. She was there for a month and we have moved her things into her room. Without any prior warning a week or so before the respite was over they informed our family, via an email, she could not stay and had to leave. The reason: "could not meet her needs"? I have since heard this is highly unusual to deny a woman in her 90"s a permanent place after respite. This is a warning for anyone approaching Arcare that they can give the impression they will offer permanent a room but then reject clients without reasonable prior open disclosure via an email. A very disappointing experience.
Our mum Doris was a resident of Arcare between Dec 2021 to Feb 2024. At the beginning mum took some time to settle in as time went on she gradually made it her home and even when she use to visit us she would tell us now drop me home and to us it felt she was very happy at her new found home. She loved her room and new where everything was. She made lots of friends at the nursing home and she loved the staff very much. The staff in turn were wonderful, empathic, caring and kind and always happy to help when requested. We are so thankful to the entire team at Arcare Carnegie for the 5 star treatment across all segments and always recommend this place for anyone wishing to have their loved one cared.
