A Place with History, Heart, and Home Once the Essendon District and Memorial Hospital – built in honour of WWII service members – CraigCare Moonee Ponds has a rich legacy of care dating back to 1964. Today, that same spirit continues in our redesigned home offering 106 spacious private rooms and nine apartment-style suites. Our rooms are among the largest in Melbourne, allowing couples to stay together and residents to bring treasured pieces from home – your dining table, favourite recliner, or chest of drawers – to make your space truly yours. At CraigCare Moonee Ponds, we don’t just provide care – we nurture friendships, share smiles, and create a place where you truly belong. Here, you’re family, and every moment matters.

A big thank you to Sapana and all the team at Craig Care for taking care of my mother while in repite. Extremely caring people.
We keep using craigcare moonee ponds for short stay/respite for my father who is high-needs. The leadership team Antiya, Sapana and Maria are accommodating, compassionate and wonderful to deal with. The staff on the wards are exceptional. We are fortunate for their care & attendance to my father, who can be hard work. Thank you from my heart Craigcare team.
Thankyou to amazing sapana always very accommodating and caring from heart and to all staff who have done a fantastic job looking after my mum. I am very with all the services that have been provided during her difficult journey and she is now very happy and settled in her beautiful room which feels like home.
I have my father there and I must say he has started to settle in and he is happy being there, the staff and management are great, sometimes they might need reminding in certain things but they try and attend to it straight away. They are very caring and attentive. Also some of the facilities and furnishings could use an update, especially in the old section.
