Our experience with Southern Cross Care home care package, particularly of late, has been one of making my Mother's and my life as a carer extremely difficult and insulting. My elderly Mother, who has vascular dementia, and myself have had to evacuate a mouldy apartment under a home GPs advice. We are in a challenging situation and our service advisers, clinical manager and and their managers have been assuming and making their own judgements without my consultation. As well as ordering and questioning me as if I am a servant working for them. The worst is they had been not processing orders for basic necessities of dressings for wounds and will not replace our blood pressure monitor that had been disposed of due to mould. There have also been threats in regard to our situation of accommodation. My Mother's package is approx $50,000 and this isn't being managed in an appropriate way in which to help us under our current circumstances.
