Both my parents resided at Kildare for several years. My father lived there for 4 years and passed away 2 years ago at 91, while my mother continues to live there at 94, having lived there for 10 years so far. I am writing this immediately after having spoken to my mother today -- New Years Day, 2026. I am completely in awe at how a 94-year lady can be so amazingly happy, motivated, and mentally and emotionally coherent. My mother attributes her mental, physical, and spiritual well-being nearly completely to the love and care she receives from the management and staff at Kildare, every one of whom she has only exceptionally good things to say about. Sometimes, I attempt to get a negative comment out of her, just so that I can give some constructive critical feedback to the management to improve things further. But I struggle, simply because she can find nothing negative to say. This is exceptional, especially when I hear several negative comments from acquaintances whose elderly loved ones live in other non-Southern Cross managed facilities. My extended family applauds the senior leadership as well as the area management of Southern Cross and the management and staff of the Kildare branch for this achievement. In doing so, they uphold the high standards of respect and care with which we must treat the generation that gave us so much, sometimes at big sacrifices to themselves. Thank you, Kildare, for looking after our parents so well. Congratulations and well done, Southern Cross !
