One of my clients went there for respite care - very poor management and de-escalation processes in place if behavioural issues occur. They did not give medications as prescribed and the person was of course, having behavioural issues due to constipation and dehydration caused by not supplying adequate fluids or their bowel medications as prescribed by the person's GP. Police were called several times. Shows they haven't learned from the issues that occurred in Cooma. All aged care facility staff should have training in dementia and behaviour de-escalation. Police should not have needed to be involved with this case at all.
