My 91 year old mother has been at Wesley Taylor for a year now and is very happy there. Whenever I visit her she's comfortable and happy and tells me how lovely the carers are. I'm very happy with our decision to put her there.

My mother moved from retirement living into the Wesley Taylor Village 18 months ago. The transition was hassle free and she's enjoyed every day since. This is largely due to the team there. From day 1 they have been caring, compassionate, and rigorously professional but with a friendly light touch. Her unit is more than ample in size and with an amazing sunny outlook which helps. Ensuring loved ones, (of increasing vintage!), are happy, comfortable and looked after well is every son or daughter's priority. Our experience is the Wesley Taylor Village and the team provides this and much more.

My mother lived at WG Taylor for the last 7 years of her life. I spent a good deal of time looking at a number of nursing homes, and continue to be grateful to have found this one. The staff is excellent. Many have been there 10 - 17 years (a very good sign). There are also a number of caring volunteers, and a little dog, who the residents love. There is a real sense of joy in the place, with many imaginative activities. For example, at one point all of the tables in the dining room had pictures of old films and film stars, to encourage animated discussions. The level of care mum received in her last week's was outstanding. A special palliative care nurse was employed by WG Taylor to be with mum all night. I asked a staff member what I could do for mum and she said "she's run out of her face cream - she does love it". After mum died, one of the staff said "I loved making your mum look pretty in the morning" and showed me some photos she'd taken - she obviously really loved her. As far as "practical" things go, mum was in a small unit - bedroom, bathroom, living/dining room, kitchen and balcony with nice outlook. Not all the residents have such units, but all the rooms are a very good size, with ensuite. The place is very nicely furnished, with an internal garden. I was therefore amazed to read the review below. Out of interest, I looked up another review written by the same person on Peninsula Funeral Services, and found it was just as scathing. I can only assume that the "problem" is not with the organisations, but with the reviewer.
