Tried to get respite for Mum but they kept on saying she needs rehab. When even the hospital and the surgeon told them she cannot put any weight-bearing on her leg for three months. How can you do rehab? Can’t even go to the toilet by yourself. You need to get a lifter so I was very disappointed two days before and had to find somewhere else, it was a very hard and difficult but finally got somewhere that is great. These people need to listen.

Thank you Kim and your wonderful staff at Whiddon Redhead including the office staff, nursing staff, assistants and the caring ladies who served the meals. My family and I are thankful to everyone for the care you gave my husband George and the kindness you showed myself and my family throughout his time at your wonderful establishment. Devastated I went with this home for my beautiful mum.. Manager Kim has no clue whats going on because she never leaves her office .Arrived today at 12.15, mum was sound asleep and I doubt she was given lunch thats on at 12.. She was extremely thirsty, however no water in her room. No toilet paper for her , and no towels in the bathroom . Ive been asking for 2 months for her screen door to be opened again, and still not actioned. Mum had a serious fall, brain bleed , and no duty of care and ambulance called! We got her to the hospital day 4 when we become aware. Brain bleed as it turned out😭 All very complacent there and absent management! The smell of the designated staff smoking area at the front doors to a nursing home is disgusting Go elsewhere for your loved ones🙏

This place requires ACAT review. First presentation looks lovely. Though……. falls of residents are not reviewed nor referred for medical attention. Staff do not report incidents up the chain. Clothing goes missing Wallets and their contents disappear Even personal bed linen goes missing My mother was there until her death… I still hear the staff walking past the room and saying ‘….oh god, she still hanging on ‘. It was not said nicely She fell - no referral nor follow up … she was very sleepy afterwards…. Bruises and swelling not even noticed by staff ‘ will get the nurse to look at’. Fell again - and slept - again no follow up week later she passed. This is also the same for my brother-in law No follow up with falls unless family request despite falls risk. Three plus falls in a week!!! No investigation nor referral to medical unless family request!!!

My husband passed away five weeks ago. He was a resident in the dsu unit for four years. I could not have asked for better care for Warren the staff went above and beyond to look after his needs. Without their support I would not have been able to get through this horrible journey of dementia. My heartfelt thanks to the staff who gave me the strength to laugh and joke with them. The angels in the dsu at Whiddon Redhead

My mother and father are both there in adjoining rooms. Mum has dementia and does not get showered at times for over a week. Medication is found in her drawers and other places. Staff do not observe residents taking meds. 8am meds given at 10.30am. Nil incidents recorded of medications errors, no fluid balance chart after requesting due to finding multiple full cups of fluid in mums room. Staff are wearing the same PPE gear from patient to patient. Now both my parents have COVID. Looks like PPE is to protect staff and not residents. My father not provided with PPE when mum contracted COVID. ATM, Whiddon is only good for the views!
