Avoid cleaning contracts here, never any access, won't issue a code to get in the gate so much time wasted here, ive lost hundreds of dollars in contracts here because I can never get in. Avoid this place! Now pursuing legal action for compensation due to lost work.

Palm Lake Resort, Bargara, Queensland is a lovely place to live. It is very safe in your house & when walking around. There is a community garden full of deliciously fresh fruit, veggies, herbs etc. The two clubhouses hold regular events & social activities eg bingo, pool, night-time meals. The swimming pools are appreciated. The entire village is surrounded by beautiful gardens & you enter via a few locked gates. Each resident has a fob to open the gates. The streets within the village are ideal for bicycling, running or walking.

We have been here over 9 years, seen so many caretakers come and go and watched our fortnightly rental charges increase dramatically due to the market rental rates previously used. Are so fortunate to have some wonderful neighbours, however, getting very despondent with the lack of maintenance. Mgnt just use the excuses of awaiting parts, labour and/or approvals. The only time things get done are when Palm Lake is trying to sell homes in another development stage. Current state of facilities is an embarrassment and unless there is any immediate improvement, we suspect the Health Dept, media or govt minister will likely have to intervene.

We were sold on the features of this place but used them less than 1% of the time we lived there in 13 months. It's a "clicky" place to live with rules that are made up for the club houses by the dowdy old lawn bowlers and don't dare upset the card playing ladies who want to sit in the air conditioned club house in the middle of summer with all the windows and doors open. Maintenance was a real issue while we lived there. Everything took an eternity to be repaired and in 13 months we never got that free coffee we were assured by Happy Jan that was free. It was a place of toxicity if you didn't blend in overall ... but our immediate neighbours were really lovely. They were the only reason we lasted 13 months. I wrote a whole big piece and got sick of editing it. Palm Lake is awful .... perhaps we weren't old enough being 59 and 69. Either way ... we are glad we're out of that toxic hole.
