4th edit: what a change. New management has seen the world of difference. Chris is always smiling approachable and always actions issues. I went into her office she has arranged her office so her desk is facing the residents hallway and her door is always open. I see her every time I’m at the nursing home she is almost the face of Anglicare’s Dutton court. All the staff have been beaming and seem happier. I love Marie who is always checking on mum and comforting her when I can’t be there. The staff are more like family. Katrina and Hanna are always accommodating and nothing is ever too hard when I’m struggling. They always ask how I’m doing. Chris also jumps in to help when she can. I kept complaining about mums blanket going missing and she tracked it down it wasn’t her job but she took time out of her busy day to help. The amount of times I had to call aged rights advocacy in the past 3 years would shock anyone but this year has been a blessing. I also have to mention Valarie, Tracey in the cafe who is loving kind to everyone. I want to name the nurses and everyone else but I can’t list everyone but they have been amazing and kind as well. 3rd edit: my mum has been assaulted by another resident and he is continue to threaten her, he has also threatened me. They can’t ask him to leave so they have offered for my mum to move nursing homes. My mum hasn’t been able to go to group gatherings because he gets triggered by my mum. So she is being put in other areas of the nursing home.today I made a police report and they were very supportive for the rights of my mum. This man should be moved he is the aggressor. Edit: I am changing my review since the clinical manager was the reason for my one star review. Christine Murea, she didn't understand my mother who has dementia, she invaded my mothers privacy, I felt she was a bully and didn't ever listen to my concerns, since she has been removed from this position the nursing home has been AMAZING. They have made a lot of changes if I have any concerns they are addressed straight away. Vicky The Director is amazing and offers help when ever she can and is a great support. The office staff are fabulous and so are most of the carers, some could do with some dementia training and understanding. I would leave a 5 star review but my mum still complains about the food. The nurses are lovely and care for my mum a great deal. I can’t articulate how frustrated I am with the nursing home. They can’t see how unreasonable they are and make me feel like I’m the unreasonable one. Everyone else I’ve spoken to has understood my concerns but them. I can’t see them ever realising how unreasonable they are being. I’m too exhausted to keep advocating as hard as I have had to over this past year or so.
