This place is getting worse, not better. Since Deb took over management, the environment has become absurdly petty and hostile to residents. The kind of rigid, small-minded enforcement creates resentment, not community. Facilities are also declining. The hot tub spa is now barely warm, apparently because management would rather restrict comfort than provide what residents are paying for. Maintenance overall feels neglected. Meanwhile, rates continue to rise while residents receive less and less in return. The message is clear: squeeze every dollar possible and see how much inconvenience and disrespect residents will tolerate. Living here increasingly feels like living under a petty micro-manager who seems determined to ensure residents never feel relaxed or at home in their own community. If you enjoy arbitrary rules, declining facilities, and an atmosphere where comfort is treated as a privilege rather than a right, this might be the place for you. If, however, you want a well-managed community with properly maintained facilities and a genuine sense of welcome, stay far away.

My in-laws live here. This is their home. The location on the water is quite nice, and the facilities are pretty decent. Management, on the other hand, always seems to be rude, entitled, insecure middle-aged women who want to swing their authority around instead of being welcoming. Currently the manager is named Marika. You'd think that when we come to visit as guests, (as we are well and truly allowed to do!!) ... Instead of saying "Welcome, nice to meet you, hope you enjoy your visit here" ... (you know, hospitality) ... We get rude and snarky questions: "Who are you?? What are YOU doing here??" As though we are a problem. Does management not think that retired folks MIGHT like to see their children and grandchildren? Have they ever thought that we spend THOUSANDS of dollars to fly from overseas to come and visit? It's awful that these managers have so little people skills. Every interaction here feels like Marika is just waiting to find some reason to be rude or bossy. And if that's how they treat us, I can't imagine they treat residents any better. The real irony is, if they read this review, instead of trying to improve and do better, I suspect they'll take their insecurity out on my in-laws and treat them poorly. How hard is it to be polite? Friendly? And care about your residents? We're polite, well-mannered, friendly and many of the residents know us because we've been coming to visit long before Marika was here. Some training in how to be hospitable to guests and residents would go a long way. And, Marika, if you read this, here's what I'd say: If you were friendly, polite, welcoming, we'd be happy to write an adjustment to this review. Maybe you're not trying to be this, and you were having a bad day? Just be friendly. Human. Ask questions like "Oh hey, where are you from?... oh that's nice. How was the trip over?" ... That's how you get people excited to be a part of this community.
If you think Mireeka was rude, try dealing with the new Manager Deb, she's an absolute tyrant 🤬 Lovely residents but the facility is poorly managed. They do not care about their clients once you’ve moved in. Communication with anyone in this company is ignored if deemed too difficult. Facilities have been allowed to deteriorate too. Residents call it Shabby Shores! Very disappointed.
