I have been here now for 17 years and I have enjoyed every minute dispite my health issues .The admin staffl are exceptional as are the gardeners.
On Behalf of Ron and Nola, We have throughly enjoyed our 18 years at Springthorpe Retirement Village and would highly recommend.
When I arrived to visit the Village 11 years ago I was impressed by the beautiful gardens and easy access to trains and buses. The Manager at the time was professional and seemed to have a genuine care for residents. The atmosphere was welcoming and homely. There is a family type atmosphere here with residents looking out for each other without being intrusive. The team here is always attentive, kind and responsive to both the needs of the residents and concerns of families. The Community Centre, where much of the social activities take place, is comfortable and inviting. Activities organised by the social committee are diverse and engaging, helping residents to stay active and mentally stimulated. I would recommend Springthorpe to anyone wanting to downsize and somewhere safe to continue a good quality of life in their later years.
We have been totally satisfied living at the village. Made very good friends. Been on various committees and have enjoyed the experience and learnings. The staff have been very supportive with all aspects of life at the village and extremely professional with all the residents concerns including their well-being.
My husband and I are very comfortable in our spacious 3 bedroom/2 bathroom unit which also has a large paved, undercover outdoor area. The Village grounds are attractive and well cared for by our two hardworking gardeners. Springthorpe is a friendly community with an excellent manager.
I enjoy Springthorpe Retirement Village because most of the residents are lovely and friendly. I feel respected and appreciated when helping others. We have lots of nice activities and Happy Hour is fun. We are currently adding some nice touches to the village by upgrading the community centre and croquet area to include bowls & putting. Our grounds are kept nice and plants & trees are being pruned or updated regularly. The staff are friendly and try to help where they can. We have a library, pool table, bbq, outdoor seating, footy tipping, nice walks, etc We have a good Social Committee and a strong Residents Committee. I would recommend Springthorpe Retirement Village as a quality of life change with nice people and a nice environment but it is not a way to improve your investment nest egg as there is no capital gain or loss and 30-35% is deducted when you leave.
