I moved to Weary Dunlop after living in a suburb where there were 5 Retirement villages. When my husband was diagnosed with dementia, it was time to move. We needed a home where Care would be offered, the villages close had no Care. Weary Dunlops pamphlet arrived in our letterbox the following week. Having the right mindset made things easy for us. Moving into a brand new home was great, our third time. Coming from a lovely home & garden I wondered how we would settle in. Within 6 months the gardens were thriving, with planned landscaping, everything growing before our eyes. We enjoyed mixing with other like minded people. After years it was time for my husband to move into High Care. Another new adjustment. It took me months to realise my husband was one of dozens of residents needing Care & instant attention wasn’t possible. When I was taking Care of him he was only one. I came to know staff & appreciation the wonderful caring people around him. I cannot thank them enough for keeping him looking presentable every time I visit. My Family also appreciate their Father still looking like their much loved Dad. I’m aging & slowing down but everyday I am thankful that we moved here over 9 years ago. Thank you Ryman’s for making our twilight years so happy.
My uncle was at Weary Dunlop for nearly ten years and thoroughly loved it. He would tell everyone he was thoroughly spoilt. Nearly all the staff are absolutely fantastic and the activity variety amazing. I would say living at Weary Dunlop is like living in a resort. He passed away recently and we thank the staff for the great care he was given. Although you can’t please everyone. Roman retirement village life is the best
Great retirement village. Service second to none. Has all the top features, bowling green, swimming pool, theatre room. Grand piano..
I have family living here. The staff are somewhat hit and miss, but there are many lovely people. Food according to my relative is appalling, however that may be a matter of taste. A wellbeing check with a callback does not get actioned however, and this is of great concern.
This is a very well run retirement village and nursing home, all the residents I spoke to were very happy living there and they highly recommend it as there new forever home Lots of activities and good food and outings, very well maintained gardens and buildings.
Really glad we chose Weary Dunlop. It's been about 2 years now and things just run smoothly. In the past month, after the COVID 19 restrictions, they have really shone. Staff go the extra mile, communication is great and Mum feels safe.
Amazing place! Beautifully presented with everything set up for the residents' needs and wishes. Apartments are very comfortable and quiet. Gardens are beautiful and well tended. Underground car parking is a frustration for larger vehicles but the (limited) outdoor parking is satisfactory. The hospital-style accommodation for more intense assistance are comfortable albeit small. A wonderful place to enjoy the later years...
Making the move to a retirement facility is not easy, to say the least. Weary Dunlop eventually wins over even the most sceptical and resistant amongst our elderly. Professional staff, great amenities, welcoming to families of community members. A wonderful home for so many wonderful people at the right time of their lives.
