Honestly amazing place! The workers are nice and great at making people feel comfortable and theres tons of toys for kids to play with in the waiting area!

I have worked as a Doctor and specifically as a GP for 25 years. We went for an assessment of our son who is speech delayed. The allocated speech pathologist basically did not even speak to our son, then ran through a questionnaire for 30 mins and then dismissed us out of the room for payment - which at nearly 500 dollars was more than double what we had been told prior and when it arrived was completely useless. I said to my wife that it felt like we had seen the work experience kid. She literally ummed and ahhed her way through the consult and provided zero expertise, reassurance, insight or knowledge of what she was supposed to do. I don’t know if this is the standard of care that is typical of this office but our experience was disgraceful. We have since gone to a different provider who sat and played with our child for nearly an hour then gave us a beautiful summation of his speech delay and a plan to move forward for less then 200 dollars. I’m afraid our experience at a growing understanding was shockingly bad and so I post this review (which I never do) in the hope that it is a warning to customers and a wake up call to the owners of the business who hope actually have the best intentions.

Quality services. Effortless from first contact through to appt booking. Kind and caring assessment by speech pathologist Allira. Able to collaborate and encourage our teenager! Loved the client centred and neuroaffirming approach.

Loved our first speech appointment with Jamie! My daughter left using her word ‘up’ in context four times! I know this is a very basic word but this is a massive achievement for my daughter. We are looking forward to our next appointment. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

They are fantastic with engaging with my 5 year old child with adhd/sensory behaviours. As a parent i can relax and not have to manage his behaviour, and as i am not managing my child he is very relaxed and engaged in the sessions. All round lovely people. 100% recommend

I have been completely blown away by the incredible team at A Growing Understanding. I knew from my first phone conversation with Jordan that I was going to love this place. She had the most warm and bubbly personality that was evident even through the phone. Lauren has gone above and beyond our wildest expectations, taking it upon herself to liaise with the speech team at John Hunter Hospital, which resulted in my son being accepted for surgery that we have waited a long time for. She did this in her own time and communicated with us at every step of the way. She has the patience of a saint with our very active 4 year old boy and she adapts activities to keep him entertained - which is a huge feat in itself! Lauren is also highly knowledgeable in other allied health services within the community and has been a huge help recommending some amazing OT's. My son is a new NDIS participant and Lauren was able to provide us with invaluable information and help us navigate through the system. I cannot speak highly enough of the team at A Growing Understanding and sing their praise to whoever will listen.
