Kids Focus has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing services I’ve ever dealt with. At the start, the setup worked well. We alternated between speech and OT weekly, which suited us. But it didn’t take long to realise the speech therapist was completely disengaged. There was zero guidance on how to support my child at home, no feedback, and no effort. When I asked for strategies, I was told resources would be sent, they never were. No progress notes, no updates, nothing. I paid $350 for an “extensive assessment” and then had to chase them up for it myself. That says everything. I cancelled speech and requested a new therapist, they never even bothered replying. We continued with OT because our therapist was actually great and built a strong bond with my child. But of course, he left (which seems to be a pattern here), and since then it’s been an absolute joke. I’ve emailed Emily, the clinic team leader, multiple times, no response. Calling the clinic sends you to an overseas call centre that promises someone will get back to you. Surprise… no one ever does. I’ve spent thousands of dollars here out of pocket with no NDIS support, and they can’t even manage basic communication or transfer my child’s information. If you want constant staff turnover, being ignored, and zero care factor for your child or your family, then this is the place for you. I wish I spent my time and money at a place that valued my child’s needs not at a money hungry clinic. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values its clients. Don’t let your children build bonds and relationships with therapists in a place where you’re not getting the service or support they actually need.
