Stay away from this place! The pediatrician I saw didn't bother to call me by name, or my daughter by her correct name. It was also too much effort for him to engage in any correspondence with my daughter’s psychologist, GP, or the health professionals at Monash Hospital, Alfred CYMHS, and the psychiatric ward she ended up at after taking medication prescribed by him. Last week at our appointment, he was clearly completely oblivious that she had ended up in the psych ward at all. At said appointment, I tried to tell him that my daughter still wasn’t well, and that her psychologist recommended that her medication be reviewed urgently. He did not listen to anything I said, saying that she seems happy, so what is there to worry about? Oh, and he can’t go around prescribing medications willy nilly apparently (that would require effort I suppose). He sent me away saying that he wants a letter from the principal of her new school and her psychologist (i.e. disregarding everything I was trying to tell him and forcing me to jump through meaningless hoops, creating more correspondence that he won’t bother to read). And then I will need to make another appointment, and pay another $400 to be disrespected and ignored some more. Excellent strategy. Now here I sit, a few days later, with my daughter in the emergency department. Again. She will be off to the psych ward. Again. This could have been catastrophic.
