In response to Honey McDonald's VERY negative/toxic and VERY incorrect review of Suncare. This is my Counter-Review: I’m genuinely sadened to read such a harsh and inaccurate description of a service that, for many families like ours, has been extremely helpful and respectful. My experience with the assessment team has been the complete opposite. The assessors who visited me were professional, patient, and genuinely caring. They spoke clearly and respectfully, making sure I understood every step of the process. Their role isn’t to “stand between” clients and suppliers — it’s to ensure that the right supports are provided safely, appropriately, and according to each individual’s needs and home environment, which they do very very well. The assessments and safety checks (including things like smoke alarms and fall hazards) are not “rorts”; they’re safeguards designed to protect vulnerable people and make sure equipment is suitable and used safely. This might feel like extra red tape, but it’s there for good reason — especially when public funds are involved. My assessors followed up promptly, explained equipment options, and even helped organise approved providers. The process took some time, but the outcome has made a real difference to my quality of life. It’s unfair to label hardworking and compassionate staff as scammers. Most of them are dedicated professionals doing their best under strict government regulations to ensure older Australians remain safe, independent, and supported at home. Please refrain from posting toxic reveiws like yours. It doesn't help anyone!

Patronising waste of tax payers money. The 'assessment' team is a complete scam, neither of the people who came should be anywhere near elderly people as they talked to my father (an ex city engineer) like he was a 3 year old. Once 'assessed' a year ago no one came for cleaning, it took 4 visits for a guy to decide we couldn't get a toilet seat because it was a square toilet, (all he needed was a bar on the wall). do we really need these scammers between the client and the supplier - NO what a rort. To get a wheelie scooter thing, apparently another assessor was needed to decide if a person could come to fit him for a mobility wheelie thing, but decided the house hadn't been vacuumed and there were no current fire alarm so they couldn't come. (We are waiting on electrician to do fire alarms as last blue tooth ones kept going off in the humidity) but what's that got to do with throwing a wheelie thing in the back of a car and delivering it. Bought in our own handyman and buying wheelie from somewhere else. THIS SYSTEM IS A RORT ON TAX PAYERS MONEY. If a doctor recommends something we don't need these companies assessing anything. Myagecare needs to stop this billion dollar leak . Go straight to service providers, Whoever the first woman was and now Carmon get a different job - away from people, especially those vulnerable in society..

I have had the help of Suncare Community services since January this year at the moment especially for transport. This is such a blessing to me now I am unable to drive. The staff on the end of phones are unfailingly kind and supportive and efficient as well. The suncare volunteer drivers are super wonderful. Thank you all.
