I was a client of Home Care Assistance SE for about six months. When the new My Aged Care rules were introduced, I was taken aback to learn that the service provider planned to impose a 10% charge on every invoice for each service I was receiving. Additionally, they raised their hourly rate from $79.50 to $116. To me, this seemed quite greedy as the extra money they were charging could have gone towards another applicant for My Aged Care. Since then, I have switched providers who do not charge the 10% on services and offer a much lower hourly rate. Very disappointed to realise there are still unscrupulous providers out there. I received a reply from Home Care Assistance who posted the following "Regarding hourly rates, our current rate is $102 per hour, which is well within the pricing guidance issued by the government. Providers have also been advised to include additional operational and compliance costs within service prices, which is why adjustments were necessary industry-wide". The budget they gave me stated $116 per hour - and so it goes on. My new provider charges much less per hour and doesn't charge 10% on every invoice for every service. I rest my case .....
