I am sharing this review so others can make informed decisions before engaging this provider. I experienced multiple serious safety failures while receiving support from this organisation. On one occasion, after a significant fall in my shower, I was left on the floor for approximately 24 hours without assistance. This placed me in a life-threatening situation and resulted in further medical complications. Throughout my time with Ride At Home I observed a lack of appropriate staff training and supervision. I was frequently supported by workers with no relevant disability-care qualifications and no experience in basic daily living tasks. This included workers who were unable to perform essential activities such as cooking or making a bed, despite supporting someone with complex mobility needs. My supports were repeatedly cancelled at short notice, leaving me in unsafe circumstances and contributing to further hospital admissions. I also have serious concerns regarding financial and administrative practices. I became aware that funding allocated to support me following a prolonged hospital admission was taken from Barwon Health and I was additionally charged through my NDIS plan for the same period. This left me without appropriate care while my funding was still being claimed. Beyond client safety, I witnessed staff being treated poorly. Workers who were unwell were pressured to continue working, despite the risks this creates when supporting vulnerable people, including those who are elderly or immunocompromised. I am now supported by a provider who delivers safe and professional care, and the contrast is significant. I strongly recommend that anyone seeking disability or in-home support, whether for themselves or a loved one, carefully reconsider engaging Ride At Home based on these experiences.
